Smirnova Margarita was born in 1956 in Vologda. In 1976 she graduated from the Ivanovo art school with honors and afterwards in 1981 graduated from the Moscow State University of Industrial and Applied Arts named after S.G. Stroqanov (MSUIAA). She is a painter and graphic artist, also actively works with ceramics. She is a participant of regional, All-Russian and international exhibitions and triennial exhibitions. Since 1990 M. Smirnova is a member of the Russia’s Union of Artists.

Margarita Smirnova’s world is remarkable with its integrity, balance and cheerfulness that are so rare in present times. The artist in her paintings logically passes to the fixing of game and fairy tale, imbues canvas with bright, solid, flickering color. Contrast coloring, joy and theatricality of Margarita Smirnova’s works of art make her creativity so prettily festive and decorative and brings it together with the most modern searches or the world art.
